Who we are
Moth is a claims intelligence and administration business being set up in the United Kingdom. It is not yet incorporated. Until it is, Alex Williams, its founder, is the controller of the personal data this website collects. When the company is formed it will take over as controller, and this notice will be updated to name it.
For anything about your data, email hello@mothclaims.com.
What we collect and why
When you leave your email address on the home page, we receive that address so a founder can reply to you. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who ask to hear from us.
When you sign in to a demo with your email address, we record the address, the time and which demo you opened, and the founders are emailed that you visited. This lets us know who has seen the demo and follow up. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in knowing who has seen material we share in confidence.
We do not ask for anything else, we do not buy data about you, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
Signing in to a demo sets one cookie, moth_demo_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 14 days. It is strictly necessary for the demo to work, so it does not need your consent. The rest of the site sets no cookies.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify you; it sees your request only to count it.
Who handles it for us
These providers process data on our behalf, under their own data processing terms:
- Vercel, which hosts the website and its analytics
- Formspree, which passes form submissions and demo sign-in notices to our inbox
- Google Workspace, which hosts our email
- Neon, which stores demo sign-ins, in London
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where it is, the transfer is covered by the UK’s data bridge with the US or by the provider’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep contact emails and demo sign-ins for as long as we are in touch with you, and delete them two years after our last contact unless you have become a customer, partner or investor. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to our using it. Email hello@mothclaims.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would be grateful for the chance to put it right first.
